Introduction & The Need
During the holy month of Ramadan, HHO is committed to ensuring that no one in our community breaks their fast in hunger or solitude. Our Iftar Project provides warm, nutritious meals each evening at HHO centers and partner venues, welcoming individuals and families from all walks of life.
For many vulnerable families, the rising cost of food makes it difficult to prepare proper meals during Ramadan. Beyond physical hunger, the absence of a communal space to share in the breaking of the fast can deepen more feelings of isolation. This project aims to address both needs, providing food security and creating a shared space of human dignity, warmth, and togetherness.
Our Action
Daily Meals: 200–250 iftar meals served each evening
Menu: Nutritious main dishes with side items and refreshing drinks
Venues: Local partner facilities designed for a welcoming, respectful atmosphere such as mosques
Approach: Free from any political, racial, or religious discrimination — open to all in need
Impact
The Iftar Project strengthens bonds within the community, promotes unity, and supports physical and emotional well-being. Each shared meal fosters a spirit of compassion and togetherness, reminding us of our collective responsibility to care for one another.
Through collaboration with local suppliers and volunteers, we ensure that our iftars are cost-effective and efficiently managed, maximizing the impact of every contribution.
